Justin Hellyer and Jack Ragone met during a camping trip with the Royal Rangers at age four, Hellyer writes in a GoFundMe.
Little did he know at the time that Ragone would quickly become one of his best friends.
“Since our friendship started we have been on endless adventures and too many memories to count!” writes Hellyer, of Williamstown.
“For example, climbing a tree, being carried over boulders, playing kickball, camping, hiking, canoeing, bike riding, rollercoasters, etc. Jack loves adventure and is a thrill seeker.”
Hellyer is now hoping to help bring in donations for Ragone to fund a brand new electric wheelchair — the Extreme V8 4x4 — so Ragone can “reach and thrive towards his all of his dreams; specifically, of being a Sports Broadcaster” following his upcoming graduation.
“Unfortunately, sometimes his power chair doesn’t get him to where he wants to go his chair often gets stuck as he is going,” Hellyer says. “We could all bless him with the ability to never get stuck ever again!”
The pair had raised more than $8,200 for Ragone’s electric wheelchair as of Tuesday, June 13, putting them more than halfway to the campaign’s $14,000 goal in about a month.
“Would you please help by making a donation so that we can purchase my best friend the coolest graduation gift ever so he will never get stuck in life again?” Hellyer writes. “Thank you so much for your prayers and support!”
